Wooden Pressure-Treated Posts

Our wooden pressure-treated (CCA) posts are tapered 5 to 6-inch round posts useful for creating solid lock® (fixed knot) metal deer fences, both high-tensile and low-tensile types. We offer large bundles of these posts in lengths of 10, 12, and 14 feet. These posts should go at least 3 feet into the ground (4 feet on corners) or as deep as the frost line, whichever is deeper.

Two big problems associated with wooden deer fence posts (both surmountable under the right circumstances) relate to installation and shipping. Bulky and heavy (100 to 140 pounds each), they can be a challenge to install unless one is built like Paul Bunyan or has a mighty truck-borne post-driving machine that can pound them into the ground like matchsticks. Also, because of their weight these posts are very expensive to ship in small numbers. So they are best suited to large projects, and those wishing to order less than a hundred or so are likely to find that the cost of shipping is prohibitive. Discounts: Orders of 5 bundles or more are entitled to a 4% discount; orders of 10 bundles or more are entitled to an 8% discount.
