Polypropylene Kits with Rodent Barriers
Woodchucks (also known as ground hogs) and rabbits sometimes gnaw holes in polypropylene fences, especially ones protecting gardens. Then the deer, which commonly nose around the bottom of the fence because they really want to get under the fence, not over it, will find these holes, force their heads in, enlarge the hole or lever up the fence, and then you have a deer in the enclosure. You can prevent this by getting a fence with a 2-foot metal hexagrid "rodent barrier". That won't necesssarily control rabbits and woodchucks. But it will keep them from making small holes in the fencing, and thus will control deer. So if you want a poly deer fence and know your have rabbits and/or woodchucks in the area, it's a good idea to get a fence with a rodent barrier. As may be seen below, some of these rodent barrier fences come with extra strong poly fencing, and some also come in 7.5 and 8-foot heights. Because the rodent barriers come only in 100 and 150-foot lengths, our kits produce fences that are 100, 150, and 300 feet long. Gates are not included.
7-foot Kits with Angle-iron Posts and Rodent Barriers
These kits make deer fences 7 feet tall using angle-iron posts. As noted elsewhere, angle-iron posts need a little maintenance. They have a farm/ranch look that goes well with many vegetable gardens, and they cost significantly less than our round metal posts.
7-foot Kits with Round Black Metal Posts and Rodent Barriers, and with Regular or Extra Strong Polypropylene Fencing
The kits below make 7-foot fences with black round posts (caps included). These posts need no maintenance and look well in residential or estate settings. The 150 and 300-foot kits come either with Heavy Duty Tenax C-flex ("strong") or Extra Strength Tenax C-flex P ("stronger") polypropylene fencing.
These kits make deer fences 7.5 feet tall. The 150-footer (the shortest) sports both Extra Strength (stronger) polypropylene and round black metal posts with caps and drive sleeves. The three 300-footers are quite varied, the least expensive having Heavy Duty polypropylene and angle-iron posts, the next up in cost having Extra Strength poly and angle-iron posts, and the most expensive featuring Extra Strength poly and round posts with drive sleeves and caps.
